PhD-QMLCVC-1:
Fully Granted 4-year PhD Student (PHYNEST MSCA, Applications open untill February 28th 2026)

Fully funded open position uneder the PHYNEST MSCA Programme (https://webs.uab.cat/phynest/call/) at UAB to carry out a PhD in the program of Computer Science, in any topic related to Quantum Machine Learning. For more details address directly to Dr. Fernando Vilariño, QML.-CVC group leader: fernando@cvc.uab.cat.

 
Candidates will commit to and benefit from:
  • 48-month full-time doctoral contracts (37,5 hours/week) with a competitive monthly allowance (2.575 €/month gross).
  • Access to top-tier research facilities and supervision by internationally renowned experts (CVC’s GPU cluster, Quantum Simulator).

PhD-QMLCVC-2:
Fully Granted 3 to 4-year PhD Student (ML-QSIM, Applications open during Q1-Q2 2026)

The position is for 3 to 4 years, starting in september 2026, focused on ‘Quantum Machine Learning’, with the objective of investigating hybrid classical-quantum and quantum inspired algorithms. The tasks will investigate explorative research pathways for general problems related to machine learning and computer vision. Specific research lines can be defined in collaboration with the supervisor Dr. Fernando Vilariño, with potential avenues including generative models, optimization tasks, or other specific applications.  

 
Candidates will commit to and benefit from:
  • Up to 48-month full-time doctoral contracts (37,5 hours/week) with a monthly Living allowance: €22,000 – €24,000 annual gross, in accordance with the candidate’s qualifications, experience and CVC salary regulations. 
  • Access to top-tier research facilities and supervision by internationally renowned experts (CVC’s GPU cluster, Quantum Simulator).

POSTDOC-QMLCVC-2:
3 to 3.5-year postdoc position (ML-QSIM project, applications open during Q1-Q2 2026)HIS CALL IS NOW CLOSED

The position is for 3 to 3.5 years, starting asap, focused on ‘Quantum Machine Learning’, with the objective of investigating hybrid classical-quantum and quantum inspired algorithms. The tasks will include the design and implementation of explorative research pathways for general problems related to machine learning and computer vision. Specific research lines can be defined in collaboration with the supervisor, with potential avenues including generative models, optimization tasks, or other specific applications.  

 
Candidates will commit to and benefit from:
  • One 3 to 3.5 year postdoc position for candidates without any geographical restriction. 
  • The candidate should possess a PhD in Quantum Information or Quantum Computing at the time of enrollment, and have experience and skills in algorithm design and implementation. 
  • The candidate should have a background in machine learning and experience is welcome in common software libraries such as Pennylane, Qiskit or similar.  
  • Applications expected open from November 2025 until a suitable candidate is found. Expected starting contract: Q2-Q4 2026.
